The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) wants to hear about what you’re hearing – on the radio.
The CRTC has invited Canadians to share their opinions about AM and FM radio as part of its review of commercial radio. The information will be used by the CRTC to update its regulations to ensure Canada’s commercial radio industry can remain competitive with digital competition.
Interested Canadians’ are encouraged to complete an online survey until November 26, 2020. The CRTC will also receive comments until February 1, 2021 through online forms, written or faxed submissions.
CRTC Chairperson Ian Scott noted radio’s role as an important source of news, information and entertainment for Canadians in announcing the survey. “(Canadians) spend close to 15 hours per week tuning in to traditional radio, as well as listening to a multitude of digital platforms,” he noted.
